Medical Lab Tech

The Medical Lab Technician Program currently focuses on providing students with the education and practical skills to work in a health care setting as a phlebotomist, patient services technician, processing or laboratory services technician. Students can pursue employment in labs, clinics, doctor's offices and blood banks.

EOC provides a preparatory review class for individuals seeking to update their CNA certification and later take their New York State recertification exam.

Medical Billing and Coding

The Medical Billing and Coding Program provides students with training to become a billing specialist, health information technician or insurance clerk. This program is planned for January 2013 to May 2013 based upon available funding.

Electronic Health Records Program

The Electronic Health Records Course provides students with instruction on how to convert existing patients charts to an electronic health record within a physician's office, understanding and applying knowledge of HIPPA regulations in a hospital setting, the role of health records and handling them securely. This is a 15-week course that starts in fall 2012 based upon available funding.

Conversational Spanish for Healthcare Professionals

This language course is designed to enhance effective communication between patients and their health care providers. An emphasis is placed upon basic, practical language needed to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and their families at the hospital, doctor’s office or on the telephone.  The program is now offered based upon the level of community interest and available EOC resources.
